The host opens a game and shares the board screen on the call — Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, whichever your group uses. Everyone else scans the QR code on that shared screen (or types the four-letter room code) and their phone becomes their controller. Nobody installs anything, and nobody needs an account to play.
How it works on a call
- Start a game and share the board screen in your video call.
- Players scan the QR code from the shared screen with their phone camera, or open the join link and type the room code.
- Each round plays out on the shared screen; answers, votes, and scores happen on each player's phone.
- Someone drops off the call? Their seat is held — they rejoin with the same name and pick up where they left off.
Why it works well remotely
The game lives in the room, not on anyone's device — so a laggy connection or a closed laptop doesn't end the night. Rounds run on timers, so the game keeps moving even if someone steps away. - Do we all need to be on the same video call?
- Yes for the board, no for anything else. One person shares the game board on the call; every player joins from their own phone, so they watch the call on one device and play on another.
- Do players need to install anything?

- What if someone's connection drops mid-game?
- They rejoin the same seat with their score intact. Rounds run on timers, so the game carries on without waiting for them.
- Does it work with Meet and Teams as well as Zoom?
- Yes. Anything that can share a screen works - the game does not integrate with the call, it just needs the board to be visible.
- Is it free?
- Hosting is free for small groups. Larger rooms, and hosting without the watermark, need a Pro plan or a one-off pass.
