About Bump & Doodle
Bump & Doodle is a baby shower drawing game played on the phones already in the room. One guest — the doodler — is handed a secret card on their own phone: a stroller loaded like a packhorse, a pacifier lost under the crib, a blindfolded diaper-change race. They draw it with a finger, the drawing appears live on the TV and on every other phone, and their team shouts guesses out loud. The second the doodler hears the right answer they tap “They got it!” and the clock stops.
The clock is the score. Whatever seconds are left when the card is guessed become the points for that turn, so dithering costs you in front of the whole shower. The card is then revealed and the guests on the other teams confirm that somebody really did say it: two Yes votes settle it, so no team marks its own homework. A drawing that runs the clock out before the baby wakes up scores nothing.
Play in teams, where your team guesses and the other teams confirm, or solo, where everyone guesses and the doodler taps who got it and takes double points for it. Two to sixteen players, ten to twenty minutes, and because it plays in the browser with no app to install, the aunt on the video call can take her turn drawing exactly like everyone in the room. All 132 cards live inside the shower and the baby on the way: the bump, the nursery, the gift table, the 3am shift, the stroller and the shower games themselves — sweet, funny, and never medical.

Common questions
- How many people can play, and how long does a game take?
- Two to sixteen. Teams mode needs at least four so there are two teams; solo works with two. Two teams over three rounds runs about ten minutes.
- Can we play it over a video call?
- Yes. Everyone opens the room on their own phone, so a guest joining by video draws and guesses like anyone else — hold the TV up to the camera, or let each guest watch the drawing on their own phone.
- Are the cards suitable for a mixed shower with grandparents and kids?
- Yes. Every card is an ordinary baby-shower or new-parent moment — a diaper cake, a wind-up musical lamb, the fourth coffee of the night. Nothing is medical, graphic or aimed at one kind of family.
- What if the guest of honor cannot draw?
- That is rather the point. One colour, one finger, sixty seconds and the category on screen for the whole room — terrible drawings are usually guessed faster than careful ones.
- What stops someone peeking at the card?
- The card is only ever sent to the doodler’s own phone. Every other device, the TV included, holds nothing but a hash of it until the reveal.
- What happens if somebody joins late or drops out?
- A latecomer joins and is put on the smallest team at the next turn. A player who drops and comes back keeps their seat and their points, and if the doodler disappears mid-turn the card goes back in the deck and the turn scores nothing.
