About Called It
Called It is the loud one: four quick rounds where every question is a judgement call. Rapid-fire red flag or green flag with seven seconds on the clock, two truths and a lie where one of you has to find the bluff, and two rounds of pointing at whichever of you is more likely to do the thing.
Everyone joins one room from their own phone and picks a partner. Every pair then plays the same rounds at the same time, scored independently, racing on a live scoreboard on the shared screen. The end crowns whoever read the room best and gives every pair a score out of a hundred with a name attached.
The lie round is properly sealed: the answer is committed as a hash before anyone guesses and only opened afterwards, so nobody - not even the shared screen - can see which statement was the lie while the guess is still live.
Two to sixteen players, and seven to fifteen minutes depending on whether the host sets the pace to Quick, Moderate or Slow before the first round. The board goes on a TV or a laptop, everyone else joins with a QR code, and nothing installs.
How a room starts
- Pick a game from the catalog — every occasion has its own room.
- Put the game's board screen where everyone can see it: a TV, a laptop, or a shared screen on a video call.
- Players scan the QR code (or type the room code) in their phone's browser. No app, no account.
- Play — everyone answers, votes, and scores from their own phone.
How to play Called It
A short narrated walkthrough of the whole game, from joining on your phone to the final scores: watch the how-to video. It is one tap from inside the room too, so a first-time group never needs the rules explained.
Where Called It fits
You will find it in the Date Night room, the Couples Showdown room and the Office & Teams room, alongside the other games picked for that occasion.
Common questions
- How many people can play?
- Up to sixteen, so as many as eight pairs. Two people works too, and simply becomes a run through the rounds for the pair of you.
- Do we have to be a couple?
- No. Players pair up in the lobby, so friends, flatmates or colleagues can play as a pair. It helps to know your partner a bit, because half the game is predicting them.
- How does the lie round work?
- One of you writes two true things and one lie. Your partner sees all three and picks the one they think is false. Then you swap, so each of you bluffs once.
- Can anyone see which statement is the lie?
- No. The answer is locked before the guess and only revealed after it, so it is not visible anywhere - not on the board, not on the other phones.
- How long does it take?
- Seven to fifteen minutes for all four rounds, depending on the pace the host picks on the setup screen - Quick, Moderate or Slow, which sets every clock in the game. Switching rounds off before the start makes it shorter still.
- What do we get at the end?
- A winning pair, plus a read score out of a hundred and a named result for everyone who played.
