A live quiz platform where the whole room plays together
One board everyone watches, a phone in every hand, and rounds on a shared timer — no downloads, and nothing for players to sign up to.
Game The Party is built around a single idea: one screen in the middle of the room, and everyone else on the phone they already have. If you have used Quizizz, the difference you will notice first is that everything here is live and shared — the room is watching one board, answering the same question against the same clock, and reacting together.
What that changes
A shared board makes the moment between the answers closing and the reveal worth something, which is the part a self-paced quiz cannot really have. Scores land on the big screen in front of everyone. Rounds are timed so the game moves at the room's pace, not the slowest player's, and a phone that locks or drops rejoins its own seat with its score intact.
There is also nothing to administer. No player accounts exist, so there is no roster to build, no invitations to chase, and no personal data sitting anywhere for people who only played one game at a party.
Beyond the classroom
The catalog is organised by occasion rather than by subject — a birthday room, an office room, a family showdown — so the same live format carries a party, a team offsite or a family gathering. For teaching use it suits a brain break or an end-of-term game rather than graded assessment; see classroom party games.
How a room starts
- Pick a game from the catalog — every occasion has its own room.
- Put the game's board screen where everyone can see it: a TV, a laptop, or a shared screen on a video call.
- Players scan the QR code (or type the room code) in their phone's browser. No app, no account.
- Play — everyone answers, votes, and scores from their own phone.
It works in person, with the board on a TV or laptop, and over video calls — see games to play on Zoom, classroom games, and office and team games.
Common questions
- Do players need to sign up?
- No. Players scan a QR code and pick a screen name. Only a host who wants to save their own question sets needs an account.
- Is this self-paced or live?
- Live. Everyone plays the same round at the same time against a timer, watching one shared board — the format is built around a room playing together.
- Can I use my own questions?
- Yes. A signed-in host can write a question set in advance, save it, and run it later with their group.
- What devices does it work on?
- Any phone with a browser, and any screen for the board — a TV, a laptop, or a propped-up phone. Nothing is installed on either.
- Is it free?
- Hosting is free for small groups. Bigger rooms need a Pro plan or a one-off pass. Players never pay.
