About Draw Me Close
Draw Me Close is a drawing game built for two people and one evening. One of you — the doodler — is handed a secret card on your own phone: the thermostat argument, one candle between two plates, the first kiss on a doorstep. You draw it with a finger while the drawing appears live on the other phone, and the guesser says every wrong thing out loud until they land on it. The moment the doodler hears the right answer they tap “They got it!” and the clock stops.
The seconds still left on the clock are the points for that turn. It opens in solo mode, so the scoring splits: the doodler takes double and the guesser takes the rest, and both of you want the card guessed fast rather than drawn beautifully. With nobody else in the room to confirm, the card is revealed and the guesser confirms it on the honour system — one tap to say yes, that really is what they shouted. A drawing that runs the clock out scores nothing at all.
It plays in the browser with no app to install, so the two of you can be on the same sofa or on a video call in different cities and play exactly the same game — the drawing streams to both phones as it happens. All 126 cards live inside couple life: the awkward first date, the shared dessert, the film neither of you finishes, the in-laws at the door, the snoring, the grand gesture. If four or more of you are in, the host can switch to teams: you pair up, your team guesses, and the players on the other team confirm.
How a room starts
- Pick a game from the catalog — every occasion has its own room.
- Put the game's board screen where everyone can see it: a TV, a laptop, or a shared screen on a video call.
- Players scan the QR code (or type the room code) in their phone's browser. No app, no account.
- Play — everyone answers, votes, and scores from their own phone.
How to play Draw Me Close
A short narrated walkthrough of the whole game, from joining on your phone to the final scores: watch the how-to video. It is one tap from inside the room too, so a first-time group never needs the rules explained.
Where Draw Me Close fits
You will find it in the Valentine's Day room, the Date Night room, the Anniversary room, the Couples Showdown room, the Family Showdown room, the Bridal Shower room and the Wedding room, alongside the other games picked for that occasion.
Common questions
- Does this really work with only two players?
- It is built for two. One draws, one guesses, and the doodler taps who got it — with nobody else to confirm, the guesser confirms it themselves on the honour system. Three rounds takes about ten minutes.
- How does the scoring work for a couple?
- The seconds left on the clock when the card is guessed are the turn score. The doodler takes double that and the guesser takes the rest, so you both gain by getting there quickly.
- Can we play it over a video call?
- Yes. The drawing streams live to every phone, so being on a call together is enough — one of you draws, the other shouts guesses down the line as usual.
- What if there are four of us?
- The host can switch to teams: you pair up, your partner guesses your card, and the players on the other team confirm that somebody actually said it.
- How saucy do the cards get?
- Warm and flirty, never explicit. The cards are the ordinary romantic and domestic moments of being a couple, so nobody has to blush at their own phone.
- Do I need to be able to draw?
- No — one colour, one finger, sixty seconds and the category on screen. A terrible drawing is usually guessed faster than a careful one.
